MY REVIEW
This album definitely shows a turning point in The Beatles career. Here they start doing some experiment work in the studio. This record starts a point that makes them believe that they can no longer tour because of their style of music, This one starts off with a George Harrison tune "Taxman" that describes how taxes are collected in England. This could be an indicator of the protest days to come. There is a second George Harrison tune, "Love You Too", on this record, a first by The Beatles, it is heavily influenced by the Indian style of music that Harrison has learned to play. And they even add a third Harrison tune "I Want to Tell You" This album uses several Paul McCartney songs unlike the older albums which featured John Lennon as the focal point. Paul brings in session musicians to help out with numerous songs that need brass and wind instruments which The Beatles are not adapt to playing. "Tomorrow Never Knows" features tape loops and backward recordings which is a first in the rock and roll industry, all thanks to the great John Lennon. Overall a great album but is not included on my top five Beatles albums.
