MY REVIEW

This album contains more covers than the last few Beatles albums. There are a total of four which I feel is quite a few for a band that has a song writing team with the proven talent of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The best cover tune here is Chuck Berry's "Rock and Roll Music" which features the rockin' voice of John Lennon. The piano on this tune is a great peace of work featuring John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Martin all on the same piano.
This record is once again showing the rock and roll audience that this is John Lennon's band. John sings the lead vocals on most of the songs.
This album is starting to show the direction that The Beatles will take in the next few releases. The songs have gone away from the rock and roll love song theme and keeps to old fashion rock and roll with a few slower tunes, all with great harmony.
