MY REVIEW

This album is the soundtrack to the film "A Hard Day's Night". It is the first Beatles album to contain all original songs.
It has a good mix of Beatles songs performed by the fab four and Beatles instrumentals performed by an orchestra. The orchestra does good renditions of The Beatles songs. I especially like their version of "This Boy".
The Beatles show how they are changing musically in their songs on this album. They are getting away from the rock and roll love songs that they started doing in the earlier stages of their career. They are showing where their roots came from and the influences that inspired them when they were just starting out.
The vocals on most of these tracks are headed by the great John Lennon. George Harrison gets his turn on "I'm Happy Just To Dance With You". Paul only gets leads on "And I Love Her" and "Can't Buy Me Love". If someone didn't know much about The Beatles at this time they could tell that this was John's band. Most of the tunes are written mostly by Lennon. This album serves as a turning point in their career.
