John, Paul, George, and Ringo, aka The Beatles


Rock and roll as we know originated in the United States with great bands and musicians such as Buddy Holly, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, and Bo Didley just to name a few, in the 1950's. The 1960's saw a trend know as then British Invasion and it was led by none other than The Beatles.
Later referred to as the Fab 4, these 4 lads from Liverpool, England would set the pace of how rock music would later be known and set the stage for new and improved ways to display their talents, and rock and shock the world.

They were the first group to:

  • use orchestra instruments in their songs
  • make a concept album
  • sell millions of albums without touring
  • use backward recording techniques and other studio aids
    just to name a few things The Beatles did that would change rock and roll.
